Lessons take a similar form each week, after putting the mats down we spend 15-20 minutes warming up and stretching muscles to prevent injury.

The body of the instruction starts with basic exercises designed to  develop breakfalls and balance breaking techniques.

The instructor for the night will then work through a number of techniques fitting the lesson to the abilities of the class and we generally cover 6 to 10 different techniques or attacks.

The lesson ends with a warm down to get the blood flowing and generally reduce the chances of waking up to aching muscles the following morning.

While we practice all year round, there are the odd occasions when the school is closed for maintenance or a function. If you are thinking of attending for the first time it is best to contact us first. (The school also has gated access and so students need to be admitted by an instructor.)
